100 Days of More Love.

Lately I've been craving a new project that I can start. More than that, I've been craving a new project that I can start and finish. People start things all the time -- new books, new diets, new fitness programs. These things come with a burst of energy and newfound motivation at the initial thought of them. And then we realize they're things that we have to actually do. We talk all the time about how we're starting new endeavors and pursuing new goals, because it's easy to talk. It's easy to have ideas and thoughts about what you want to accomplish. It's doing them -- and committing to doing them every day -- that's hard. The accountability is hard. The "What if the end result isn't as good as I imagined?" is hard.

As much as people like starting things and talking, we also like challenges. I came across the 100-Day Project and, like most people probably would, felt inspired to do one of my own.

So what's the 100-Day Project? "It’s a celebration of process that encourages everyone to participate in 100 days of making. The great surrender is the process; showing up day after day is the goal. For the 100-Day Project, it’s not about fetishizing finished products—it’s about the process."

It's about the process. People are capable of doing so much more than we think we are. The fear of failure is what keeps us from realizing that. The fear of a disappointing finished product is what holds us back. This project doesn't care if you become the best at whatever you choose to do for 100 days. The real success is your commitment to whatever you choose to do for 100 days. It's about showing up.

So what's my 100-Day Project? I'm going to spread love by writing and leaving letters to strangers every day for 100 days. I'm going to leave them on the windshields of cars, in the pockets of coats left unattended, on empty tables in coffee shops, on the shelves of Walmarts and Targets and Krogers.

The world needs more love letters, and I want to continue what this movement started.

I'll be documenting my project on here, and I'd love if you followed along on my journey! To be honest, I haven't actually picked a day to start it yet. But I'll be sure to let the world know when it's about to happen. So be on your toes and keep your eyes peeled and all of that stuff. I'm about to love some strangers so hard.
